About The Position

Colonial Pines Healthcare Center in San Augustine, Texas, is hiring a full-time Certified Medication Aide (CMA). The CMA administers oral and topical medications to residents as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the facility’s mission to provide clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and supportive services for residents and patients.

Requirements

• State certification as a nurse aide.
• State-approved medication administration certification.
• Complete familiarity with the duties of a certified nurse aide.
• Highly developed observation skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Record the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
• Observe for and report medication reactions and side effects to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
• Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
