About The Position
Heritage Specialty Care, a 171-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is hiring a Certified Medication Aide for a full-time evening schedule. The role supports residents throughout their healthcare journey by assisting with daily living activities, administering medications, monitoring health, providing companionship, and helping foster a safe, positive, and engaging environment. The position is part of Care Initiatives, which operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa.
Requirements
- Hold an active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in Iowa, or be able to activate certification.
- Hold a valid Medication Aide certification in Iowa, or be able to activate certification.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Have a compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Pass and administer medications.
- Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Conduct routine vital checks and monitor residents’ health.
- Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
