About The Position

Iris Memory Care of Tulsa is looking for medication aides (CMAs) to join their team. This is a memory care assisted living community with 54 residents across three buildings, all coping with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. The community is an age-in-place facility, meaning residents will be cared for throughout the spectrum of their disease. The rate of pay starts at $17 per hour for CMAs and $17.50-$18 for ACMAs, with negotiable rates based on experience. Priority will be given to candidates with prior memory care experience.

Requirements

  • Must be an active on the OK Nurse Aide Registry as a certified nursing assistant AND a certified medication aide.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
  • Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements.
  • Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year experience in working with older adults as a personal care assistant preferred.
  • Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred.
  • Experience with dementia residents preferred.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have worked in memory care before.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing Resident services and other duties as assigned.
  • Duties include personal services, activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, life enrichment, meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident care and service delivery.
  • Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to Residents.
  • Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all Residents and completes all required documentation.
  • Puts Resident Service First: Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
  • Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
