About The Position

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) assists in administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role ensures correct dosages and times, accurate documentation, and provides basic nursing care while monitoring resident well-being. The position is located at Avamere Rehab of Lebanon and is PRN with all shifts available.

Requirements

Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in.
Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
Experience in electronic medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered.
Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response.
Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse.
Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
Ensure the safety and comfort of residents.
Answer residents’ call lights and respond to their needs promptly.
Maintain a clean and organized environment.
Follow established healthcare standards and practices.
Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff.
Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly.
Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse.
May assist with other nursing tasks as assigned by the supervising nurse.
Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
