About The Position
Join Care Initiatives as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and make a difference every day in one of our more than 40 skilled nursing communities across Iowa. This role is for dedicated and empathetic caregivers looking to positively impact residents' healthcare journeys. You will support daily living activities, provide emotional support and companionship, monitor health and vital signs, communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team, facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities, and adhere to infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
- Valid certification as a Medication Aide.
- Medication Aide must be valid within the state of Iowa, or ability to activate.
- Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and passing medications.
- Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Provide health monitoring and conducting routine vital checks.
- Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
- Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.
