About The Position

Join Our Team as a Certified Medication Aide! Are you a night owl ready to launch your career in nursing? Join our team as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and make a difference while kickstarting your journey in the healthcare industry. As a CMA working the Swing Shift, you'll be instrumental in providing care and support to our residents during the hours of 2pm - 10:30 pm. Your dedication and compassion will light up the night. Starting wage from $22.00-$24.60 depending on experience. There is a shift differential of $1 for hours worked on weekends as well as a $1 shift differential for hours worked between 10pm and 6am. Requirements

  • Must be a certified CNA and CMA in the State of Oregon.
  • CPR/AED required within first 120 days of employment.
  • Safely operates a Hoyer lift following zero lift policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the basic principles of pharmacology.
  • Effectively engage and communicate with elderly individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and gives report from the previous shift.
  • Observes and documents resident condition changes and notifies relevant parties.
  • Cleans, restocks, and removes outdated and discontinued medication from medication cart.
  • Receives ordered medications and prepare for distribution.
  • Practices safe handling and storage of medications.
  • Answers resident call lights promptly and performs direct resident care within scope of license.
  • Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), while encouraging self-care and independence.
  • Provides services as indicated on Resident service plans.
  • Accurately calculate and document medication dosage.
  • Administers medication to residents consistent with accepted nursing standards and care plan.
  • Follow CMA five R's: right resident, right prescription, right time, right route, right dose.
