About The Position

Lawrence Street Health Care Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our nursing team on a PRN basis for weekend coverage. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to delivering safe, high-quality care to our residents. As a CMA, you will play a key role in supporting nursing staff, administering medications, and assisting residents with daily care needs.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
  • Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification (state-approved program required)
  • Knowledge of medication administration practices and limitations of the CMA role
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 60–70 lbs as needed
  • Basic computer skills (documentation, email, etc.)
  • Must meet all health, background screening, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Administer and document medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policy
  • Perform treatments for minor skin conditions as directed
  • Maintain medication carts and ensure proper storage and security
  • Monitor residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
  • Respond to call lights and conduct routine rounds
  • Support dining services and assist residents as needed
  • Take and record vital signs, intake/output, height, and weight
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times
