The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) position is responsible for administering oral and topical medications to patients/residents as ordered by a physician. This role operates under the supervision of a licensed nurse and must adhere to state and federal regulations. The CMA also performs routine daily tasks to maintain the health, comfort, and well-being of patients/residents. This position may involve taking and recording vital signs, observing for medication reactions, administering PRN medications, dispensing and accounting for narcotics, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of medication areas. The role may also include making observation rounds, supervising nursing assistants, and attending Quality Assurance meetings. The CMA is expected to function as a Team Leader/Role Model and uphold the company's policies on abuse prevention and patient safety.
