About The Position

Centennial Peaks Hospital, a 104-bed facility located in Louisville, CO, has been providing psychiatric services to the Denver-metro area for over 30 years. The hospital offers unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults, including Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient, Partial Hospitalization Programs, and inpatient services. The HIM coder is responsible for the computer abstraction of inpatient and outpatient discharged patient records, including documentation review, coding, and data abstracting of medical service documentation. This ensures that Centennial Peaks Hospital receives appropriate reimbursement, conforms to applicable guidelines and regulations, and fosters cooperative relationships with Providers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • RHIT Associate (AA) Degree or Certified Coding Specialist
  • 2+ years’ experience as a medical coder and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work experience in Health Information Management and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to navigate coding system(s) 3M Encoder and Hybrid Medical

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred coding certification from AHIMA
  • Behavioral health coding experience preferred

Responsibilities
