About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant provides patient care and assists the medical provider in any necessary duties or responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities of the Certified Medical Assistant include assessing the full scope of patient needs and assisting the medical provider when meeting with the patient, providing a safe environment for patients and employees by identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards, cooperating with the distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment, maintaining interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and co-workers, being accountable for medical practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development, using knowledge and judgment needed to meet the medical needs of patients, assisting with calling in medications for family practice patients, maintaining Prior Authorizations and Referrals for medical services when needed, and assisting with EKG and PFT testing within the office.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assisting program
  • Certified Medical Assistant in Kentucky.
  • Minimum 1 year medical experience.
  • Communication Proficiency.

  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of professional medical theory, practices and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
  • Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional medical to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Skill in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
