About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team! This role involves ordering, collecting, processing routine and specialty testing, and returning results back to the doctor. You will also obtain and process doctor's orders, perform data entry, and provide excellent customer service via phone, to patients, doctors, and other medical staff. The ability to work well under pressure is essential. You will collect blood samples, ensuring proper patient identification and sample labeling, and follow clinic and hospital policies for transporting/delivering samples to the laboratory. This position also performs CLIA waived moderate testing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS Certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Graduation from an accredited Health Sciences program or higher.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Valid CMA certificate/license.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy course and phlebotomy experience preferred.
• CMA course

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in collecting correct blood samples and other body fluids, ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
• Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting and delivering samples to laboratory.
• Knowledge of handling laboratory supplies and stocks supplies.
• Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient’s expectation.
• Follows standards precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Knowledge and performance of sterile tech.
• Maintain, develop and utilize professional relationships with a wide range of organizations and specialists.
• May perform special tests such as clotting times, bleeding times, and glucose tolerance tests and report results to other lab personal.
• Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
• Organize requisitions received for collection, Maintains records of tests performed Scanning orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
• Maintains Point of Care documents and performs Quality Control management.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
