Provides support in the delivery of quality clinical care, ensuring accurate data is obtained and documented, and assisting physicians in maintaining registries. Prepares for patient visits by managing patient flow, preparing rooms, and performing tests/procedures as ordered. Responsible for accurate specimen collection, administering medications, and completing necessary documentation for quality care. Distributes patient education and discharge instructions, and assists patients in obtaining additional services. Documents all patient communication in the medical record. Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients and families, demonstrating respect, empathy, and a patient-centered environment. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to Health Information Management (HIM) and HIPAA standards. Complies with infection control, OSHA safety standards, and accrediting organization regulations. Participates in safety drills and promotes a culture of safety. Ensures appropriate charge capture and risk reduction through order completion and documentation, collaborating with providers and the billing department. Maintains inventory and understands revenue and expense management targets. Promotes a green environment and utilizes organizational resources responsibly. Maintains knowledge of current standards of care, participates in continuing education, and completes annual competency reviews.
