About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician. Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care which deviates from standard, and identifying educational resources to meet developmental needs. Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if the individual is not a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • No prior work experience required if the individual is a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • Lifting 20-50 lbs.

  • Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Benefits

  • Compensation Range: $18.00 - $26.39
  • Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
