About The Position

Ascension Medical Group Clinic in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their Heart Care department. This role operates on a Monday - Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm. The Medical Assistant will support providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring sterile and organized treatment rooms. Key responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording medical histories, transcribing provider orders, and managing administrative duties such as medical record maintenance and inventory.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • 2 years back office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining sterile and organized treatment rooms.
  • Streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories in patient charts.
  • Transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring all diagnoses and follow-up instructions are documented with high precision.
  • Manage essential administrative duties, including medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management to ensure seamless clinic daily operations.
