About The Position

This position is for a Certified Medical Assistant at Children's Medical Center Ormond Beach. The role requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, graduation from an approved school for Medical Assistants, and current certification/registration in Medical Assistance with current educational updates as required by the State of Florida. BLS certification is also required. The Medical Assistant will be expected to demonstrate a positive attitude, ethical behavior, and practice within their scope of education and training. Key responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality, applying principles of infection control and antiseptic technique, taking vital signs, performing first aid and CPR, preparing and maintaining the examination and treatment area, interviewing patients and taking their history, transferring and transporting patients, accurately documenting information, adhering to guidelines for releasing records, observing safety precautions, managing office inventory, identifying supply resources, using the EHR system, implementing diagnostic/procedural coding systems, and adhering to current Joint Commission standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Graduate of an approved school or institution for Medical Assistant's
  • Current Certification/Registration in Medical Assistance required with current educational updates as required by the State of Florida
  • BLS required
  • Basic Pharmacological knowledge
