This role coordinates patient care with physicians, assists with assessments, administers medications as ordered, and supports administrative duties to further patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, preparing them for examinations or treatments, and taking vital signs. They will also provide assistance to physicians as needed, perform breathing tests like Spirometry, and prepare and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization. Patient education, documentation in medical records, calling in prescriptions, performing allergy testing and administering injections, and monitoring patients for adverse reactions are key clinical duties. The role also involves maintaining emergency equipment, handling patient-related phone calls, and obtaining referrals and insurance authorization. Maintaining clinical supply stock and medication samples is also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the position requires maintaining patient confidentiality, complying with HIPAA and compliance guidelines, and possessing knowledge of practice management and relevant computer software. Attendance at required training programs (CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, Information Security) and regular meetings is expected. The role also includes completing assigned AP training within designated timeframes and adhering to Allergy Partners policies, reporting any violations.
