Certified Medical Assistant - ACC 4 Cardiology
About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician. This role functions under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving, all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care deviating from standard, and identifying educational resources. Job duties may include handling, transportation, access to, and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA, NHP).
- One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program.
- No work experience required if an individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program.
- Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Lifting 20-50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing, Prolonged sitting, Frequent bending, Walking (distance), Climbing (steps, ladder, other), Reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
- Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking.
- Able to handle multiple priorities, Able to adapt to frequent change.
- Works all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Previous experience in an academic health care environment.
- Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as CAAHEP or ABHES.

Benefits
- Compensation Range: $19.00 - $28.51
- Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
