Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a specialty medical practice.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure timely patient flow.
Assist physicians and providers during examinations and minor procedures.
Perform clinical procedures including injections, EKGs, venipuncture, specimen collection, wound care, dressing changes, and point-of-care testing as directed.
Administer medications and immunizations as ordered by the provider and within scope of practice.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Review provider schedules and prepare patient charts before appointments.
Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, procedures, and preventive health measures.
Clean, disinfect, and stock examination rooms and clinical supplies.
Maintain infection control standards and comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies.
Assist with prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
Respond to patient phone calls and portal messages in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
