About The Position
Urgent Care for Kids by Goodside Health is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant for their Round Rock office. This role is referred to as a "Utility Player" and is crucial for the smooth operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for pediatrics and a commitment to providing 5-star care. This role involves a wide range of duties, including front desk reception, back office care, triaging, radiology, and lab work. Requirements
- Passion for children
- Experience working in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years, with a minimum duration of 6 months
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, RMA)
- LVN - TX License
- BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by American Heart Association)
- Knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- Triage patients upon arrival
- Communicate with the provider on duty regarding patient status and symptoms
- Document patient visits in the EMR system (eMDs)
- Assist providers in procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, administering vaccines and medications, and phlebotomy
- Administer and document medications as directed by the provider
- Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms
- Obtain labs and follow up with patients regarding results
- Provide patient education at the end of the visit and address follow-up questions
- Position patients for radiology procedures and remove artifacts
- Perform front office responsibilities, including insurance verification, patient registration, answering phones, and processing monetary transactions
- Perform any other assigned duties
