About The Position

Ascension Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their Primary Care department in Bartlesville, OK. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8a - 5p. The role involves assisting with patient examinations and treatments under the direction of a provider, performing select clinical duties, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms. Responsibilities also include basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing, as well as materials management like ordering and stocking supplies. The Medical Assistant may also document provider encounters, list diagnoses and symptoms, transcribe patient orders, and follow-up instructions.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Must either be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or in school currently to obtain your CMA/RMA.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior CMA experience preferred
  • MA Certification and/or Registration in good standing through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
  • Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
  • Perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • May document the provider's encounter with patients.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
