About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll play an important role in creating an exceptional experience for every patient by welcoming and interviewing patients while gathering medical history, measuring and documenting vital signs, preparing treatment rooms and assisting providers during patient examinations, maintaining accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort, privacy, and professionalism, communicating effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members, maintaining annual competencies and supporting a safe, efficient clinical environment, and performing additional duties as assigned to support the success of the practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to accurately observe patients and follow detailed clinical procedures.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Through one of these nationally recognized organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), MedCA, National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
  • One year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and interviewing patients while gathering medical history.
  • Measuring and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
  • Preparing treatment rooms and assisting providers during patient examinations.
  • Maintaining accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort, privacy, and professionalism.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members.
  • Maintaining annual competencies and supporting a safe, efficient clinical environment.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support the success of the practice.
