About The Position

SMG Cardiology Specialists are seeking to hire a Senior Certified Medical Assistant. This position is located in Norfolk, VA and is a Full-Time, Days position. The Senior Certified Medical Assistant will perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated or assigned by and/or under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). They will also perform administrative duties, as appropriate.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must have one of the following Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT)
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
Patient Care experience of 3 years required.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated or assigned by and/or under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Perform administrative duties, as appropriate.
