About The Position

Sentara Nephrology is currently hiring a Certified Medical Assistant in Harrisonburg, VA. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional shift rotation. The role involves floating between Nephrology and GI practices located in the same building and is onsite at the Lorton practice. The CERTIFIED Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Requirements

• Less than a year of related experience required
• Phlebotomy experience highly preferred
• High School Diploma OR equivalency required
• Must have one of the following on the first day of employment: Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EMT (EMT-B)
• BLS within 90 days of hire date
