About The Position

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Physician's Office team. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, nurse, and/or Practice Manager while maintaining a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach. This position assists with patient assessments, clinical procedures, documentation, patient education, and coordination of care. The CMA may also cross-train to support front office operations and provide coverage at HMC satellite clinics as needed.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through a nationally recognized certifying organization is required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Must be available to participate in the Saturday rotation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Venipuncture experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in HMC satellite clinics as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts, visit paperwork, and exam rooms prior to appointments.
  • Welcome patients, escort them to exam rooms, and obtain vital signs, medical history, current medications, and chief complaints.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepare laboratory and diagnostic imaging requisitions with appropriate diagnoses.
  • Provide patient education, including medication instructions and follow-up care.
  • Communicate physician-reviewed test results and instructions to patients.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and route clinical concerns appropriately.
  • Schedule specialty referrals and follow-up appointments.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, and maintaining patient medical records.
  • Cross-train to assist with front office reception duties as needed.
  • Support consulting specialty providers including Cardiology, Orthopedics, Spine, Urology, and other specialty clinics.
  • Stock and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.
  • Review incoming laboratory and imaging results and route them to the appropriate provider.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance, infection prevention standards, and patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
