About The Position

Certified Medical Assistant – Haywood Urgent Care is a full-time position offering a $5,000 Sign-On Bonus with a 2-year commitment. The schedule operates 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is committed to prioritizing employee well-being to enable exceptional patient care. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will contribute to the mission of making communities healthier. The Urgent Care Team consists of 2 Providers, a Registered Nurse (RN), Rad Tech, and Lab Assistant. This walk-in clinic treats injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care that are not severe enough for an ER visit. The role helps alleviate ER burden by caring for emergent patients.

Requirements

  • Current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Decisive judgment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Completes other tasks, within the scope of the position, as delegated by practice leads, supervisors, managers, or Market Director.
