About The Position

Certified Medical Assistant – Haywood Urgent Care is a full-time position at Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. This role is crucial for the Urgent Care Team, which operates as a walk-in clinic treating immediate but non-emergency medical needs. The team includes 2 Providers, a Registered Nurse (RN), Rad Tech, and Lab Assistant. The clinic operates 7 days a week, from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. This position contributes to the community's health by providing essential care and alleviating the burden on the ER.

Requirements

  • Current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.
