About The Position

Sentara Urgent Care St. Luke's is hiring a Full-time Certified Medical Assistant in Carrollton, VA. The Medical Assistant is responsible for creating a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees, and for identifying, addressing, and incorporating safety principles. This role involves performing patient care tasks and procedures, as well as administrative duties where appropriate. The Medical Assistant must be able to objectively assess situations, consider alternatives, assist in developing action plans, and evaluate outcomes. They are expected to demonstrate specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, interact effectively across departments, and adhere to department and system policies, procedures, and practices. The position requires productivity and efficiency in daily operations and the utilization of safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible resources. Requirements

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days from hire

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical/Administrative Experience 1 year preferred
