About The Position
Ascension Medical Group Clinic in Carmel, IN is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their Heart Care department. This role operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring sterile and organized treatment rooms. They will also be responsible for streamlining clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, and manage administrative duties such as medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- 2 years back office experience preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification
Responsibilities
- Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining sterile and organized treatment rooms.
- Streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories in patient charts.
- Transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring all diagnoses and follow-up instructions are documented with high precision.
- Manage essential administrative duties, including medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management to ensure seamless clinic daily operations.
