About The Position

This role involves assisting medical and nursing staff, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, identifying and reporting crises, and managing the medication line. The Certified Medical Assistant will also be responsible for assisting nursing staff with vital signs, blood sugars, and accurate charting.

Requirements

• Current Medical Assistant certification
• Medical Assistant training from an accredited program
• Must be 18 years of age based on company policy
• Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed population

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge/experience working with chemically dependent patients preferred.
• Knowledge of 12-Step program preferred.
• Prefer experience in a clinic or outpatient setting.
• Previous experience with behavioral health or addiction recovery field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the medical staff, nursing staff and patients.
• Maintain a safe environment for the patients.
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment in the nursing station.
• Able to identify a crisis and inform the appropriate department.
• Be responsible for maintaining an environment of stability and order while patients are in the med. line.
• Assist nursing with vital signs, blood sugars and proper documentation in the chart of the vital signs.
