About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner Group, LLC is committed to excellence and compassion. This patient-facing role requires working in a clinical setting and is customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence. This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program, where vendors schedule Veterans at contracted clinical facilities and embed practitioners as needed. Dedicated facilities are located in areas with large Veteran populations, offering the potential for high volume.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, and/or military equivalent.
• If required by state of operation: Maintains unrestricted and in good standing certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Phlebotomy Certification from an accrediting training course, when required by state requirements.
• Active/Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability/willingness to drive between work locations, if applicable.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant clinical experience (i.e., Primary Care, Family Care, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care).
• Willingness to complete CAOCH and Drug Testing Collection Certifications.
• Attendance and punctuality are necessary.
• Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions.

• Skilled in utilizing EMR and MS Office Suite software applications.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with Veterans, Service Members and Federal Employees.
• Previous experience performing EKG, PFTs, ABIs, venipuncture, lab processing, etc.
• Current certification in Audio and Drug Testing Collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs, PFTs, phlebotomy and other labwork/specimen collection, visual acuity screening, vital signs, and other clinical tasks as assigned by leadership or licensed provider.
• Greet Veterans and escort them to the exam room.
• Report no-shows to the client.
• Maintain a tidy and organized facility.
• Manage supply inventory and promptly escalate any gaps.
• Assist with other site duties, including administrative work and tasks assigned during downtime.
• Perform routine and basic front and back-office duties, including answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, preparing schedules, data entry, prefilling documents, document retrieval, filing, and assisting in patient examinations under the direction of a physician or licensed provider.
