About The Position

Works under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals. Schedules appointments and maintains medical-record information for insurance purposes. Takes and records vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, draws blood, and administers medications. Enters medical and social histories and performs patient intakes and discharges to assist healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant certification is required.
• CPR training is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding related to clinic procedures and physician billing.
• Highly effective communication skills.
• CRT proficiency and ability to type.
• Knowledge of vaccine requirements for patients from newborns through adulthood in assigned areas.
• Knowledge of the patient-flow process applicable to the clinic.
• Knowledge of THS/CHIP.
• Ability to document in an EMR.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
