About The Position

Certified Medical Assistant – Mountain Medical Associates is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday – Friday, 8a-5p. Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their team. This role is vital in supporting the mission of making communities healthier. The team at Mountain Medical Associates provides multispecialty care services including routine checkups, illness management, preventative care, and minor procedures, lab/X-Ray in a fast-paced environment. They are committed to providing personalized, high-quality healthcare in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Requirements

• Current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant
• High school diploma or equivalent
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
• Critical thinking skills
• Decisive judgment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Nice To Haves

• Previous medical office experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.
