About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This role is located at the Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center and operates Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The Certified Medical Assistant will manage clinic throughput and patient flow, assist with patient intake, measure vital signs, review medication lists, and take medical and surgical histories. Responsibilities include preparing and disinfecting exam rooms, ensuring adequate supplies and instruments, scheduling diagnostic tests, and potentially participating in specimen collection, cast/splint removal, and venipuncture. The role also involves maintaining patient information in the electronic medical record, adhering to HIPAA and organizational guidelines, supporting performance improvement goals, and practicing financial stewardship. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, along with upholding the organization's mission, vision, and core values. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Certified or registered Medical Assistant required
American Heart Association BLS certification required

Responsibilities

Manages clinic throughput and flow of patient-room utilization
Assists with patient intake, measures vital signs, and reviews medication lists; takes medical and surgical histories
Prepares and disinfects exam rooms prior to each patient visit
Ensures adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available in clinics
Schedules diagnostic tests or imaging
May participate in specimen collection and processing
May remove casts and splints
May perform venipuncture
Accountable for meeting the standards of patient/personal safety and in maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment
Assists clinic staff with administrative needs
Maintains patient information and documentation in electronic medical record
Abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights
Supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals
Supports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations
Supports departmental initiatives and change efforts
Practices financial and resource stewardship
Engages in strong communication, acts as team player in supporting mission and vision of organization, and abides by organization’s core values
