Medical Assistant - Certified Medical Assistant
About The Position
This position is for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic at Ashley River Tower. The CMA will be responsible for an average of 25-30 patients per day. The shift will be 5x8 hours, from 7:15 am to 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. There is no on-call requirement. The CMA may need to float within scope to meet facility needs, potentially to GI Medicine or GI Surgery within the same building, if the unit's needs require it, though this is rare. The clinic sees a variety of patients with heart and vascular issues, including transplant patients (lung and heart), indicating a very complex patient population. The CMA will work with a team of RNs and CMAs in an outpatient clinic setting.
Requirements
- 1.5 years of experience as a CMA.
- CMA Certification through the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health career Association (NHA), or MedCA as a Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant (MA1), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
- BLS Certification.
- Epic experience.

Responsibilities
