About The Position
BrightStar Care is seeking Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) for immediate openings to work with their partner facility in Savannah. The role involves preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers, recording vital signs and medical histories, scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining electronic medical records (EMR). The work environment is described as very busy, highly stressful, with potential exposure to blood-borne diseases and chemical hazards. Physical demands include prolonged standing/walking, assisting with patient lifting and movement, lifting supplies up to 20lbs occasionally, and considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Requirements
- CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) license
- Active CPR
- TB test within the past 12 months
- At least a year of CMA experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
- Record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information accurately
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
