About The Position

This position involves supporting the healthcare team and patient/family by facilitating communication and collaboration to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The role promotes optimal health, well-being, and safety in accordance with patient care standards and state medical practice acts. Responsibilities include performing clinical tasks as directed by a healthcare provider, assisting with front office duties and scheduling, and maintaining accurate chart documentation and medical records. MAs are also expected to engage in personal and professional growth through in-service presentations and seminars, demonstrating accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., required
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration from approved organization, required (American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT))
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association, required

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act
  • Perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with our Physician Group Scope of Practice
  • Assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and/or patient appointments
  • Responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance
  • Attend / conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values
