About The Position

Florida ENT & Allergy, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time position floating among its Hillsborough County offices. The practice provides general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, as well as diagnostic and rehabilitative services. This role is suited to a seasoned assistant who is comfortable with in-office procedures, can manage a high volume of incoming patients, and is motivated to learn the ENT, Allergy, and Audiology fields.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
• Current certification.
• Comfort assisting with surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a clear speaking voice.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members.
• EMR experience.
• Strong computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls.
• Take patient vitals.
• Obtain authorizations.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgery.
• Prepare exam rooms.
• Assist physicians with in-office procedures as needed, including wax removal, biopsies, and surgical procedures; obtain proper consent and follow the proper scope of practice.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments according to CDC and ENTAAF guidelines.
• Brief the physician on each patient before the physician enters the exam room.
• Travel between ENTAAF offices to provide support, as needed.
