About The Position

Florida ENT & Allergy, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time position supporting its Hillsborough County offices as a float. The practice provides general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, along with diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This position is suited to a seasoned medical assistant who is comfortable with in-office procedures, can manage a high volume of incoming patients, and is motivated to learn about ENT, Allergy, and Audiology. Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
• Current Medical Assistant certification.
• Comfort assisting with surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a clear speaking voice.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members at all times.
• EMR experience.
• Strong computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Obtain authorizations.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgeries.
• Prepare examination rooms.
• Assist physicians with in-office procedures, including wax removal, biopsies, and surgical procedures, as needed.
• Obtain proper consent and ensure the proper scope of practice is followed.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments according to CDC and ENTAAF guidelines.
• Brief the physician on each patient before the physician enters the examination room.
• Travel between ENTAAF offices to provide support, as needed.
