About The Position

We are seeking experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) candidates to provide high-quality, comprehensive patient care at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in outpatient primary and specialty care clinics under the direction and supervision of Government healthcare providers. CMAs may support newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and other specialty clinics.

Requirements

• US Citizen
• Certification, graduate from a medical assistant training program sponsored or recognized by an educational institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Medical Assistant
• A minimum of one (1) year qualifying experience in the past two years as a CMA

• Medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
• Medical assistant program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
• Medical assistant program accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces

Responsibilities

• Obtaining and documenting patient histories and vital signs
• Preparing patients and examination rooms
• Assisting providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries
• Collecting and processing laboratory specimens
• Performing basic diagnostic testing such as electrocardiograms and glucose testing
• Administering authorized injections and medications
• Maintaining medical records
• Supporting patient education, follow-up, scheduling, and other clinic operations
