Job Summary and Responsibilities Up to $2500 Sign On Bonus Offered Paid out in FULL after 30 days of employment! Location: CUMC-Bergan Campus 77th & Mercy Schedule: Part-Time (20hrs a week) 3 days a weel (2-8hr days and 1-4hr day) CHI Health is looking to add a part-time Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (NOT Med Aide / CNA) to our amazing OB team located at the CUMC-Bergan campus!! This position will support our healthcare teams by ensuring they have everything they need in order to care for our patients. They also play a huge role in a patient’s experience and prep when they visit any of our clinics. We couldn’t do it without you! Requirements

  • CHI Health requires that ALL Medical Assistants / Certified Medical Assistants MUST be a g raduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
  • Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
  • Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reason for visit.
  • Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately.
  • Ensures safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required and necessary action taken if indicated.
  • Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.
