Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience in a medical setting.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Hold all applicable and current professional licenses, certifications, and credentials in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Pass mandatory background, credit check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to include, taking and recording patient history, vital signs, making appointments, assisting physician assistants (PA's) and physicians in clinical activities.
  • Draw blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes.
  • Collect and process Urinalysis.
  • Operate the EKG machine, and other special medical apparatus and equipment within the HSU.
  • Assist PAs and visiting clinical specialty consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow through the chronic care clinic, optometry and general clinics when scheduled.
  • Assist primary providers in the urgent care room when necessary.
  • General nursing duties.
  • Receive the adults in custody (AIC) passes, pull, file and copy medical records and maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
  • Screening eye exams and assisting physicians and mid-level practitioners in minor surgical cases.
  • Maintain daily sick call list.
  • Administer treatments/procedures such as nebulizer, ear lavage, and other routine procedures and prepare and administer medications with physician authorization.
  • Perform daily pill pass to the AIC as needed and designated by the clinical director.
  • Perform any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the HSA, ASHA, or the clinical director.
