About The Position
Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant. This is a part-time day shift Medical Assistant role with Float Pool, 24 hours weekly. The Medical Assistant Float Pool position will support one or more regions which would primarily include Western Tidewater coverage (Carrolton, Wakefield, Suffolk). May require some travel to Chesapeake or Norfolk. Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role. Overview Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Active CMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of clinical or administrative experience (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
