Under the direction of the healthcare provider, the Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients. This role accurately performs preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse, and respiration, and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols. The position involves performing general patient care, greeting and preparing patients, obtaining and recording vital signs, administering ordered medications and/or vaccines, drawing and collecting blood samples, scheduling diagnostic tests, documenting patient plans of care, communicating test results, preparing and sterilizing instruments, and maintaining equipment. The role also includes ensuring safety checklists are completed, protecting patient privacy, and potentially assisting in the front office or performing other assigned duties.
