The Certified Medical Assistant will deliver care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process. This role performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures, greets and prepares patients for the health care provider, and obtains and records vital signs. The CMA will administer ordered medications and/or vaccines, may draw and collect blood samples, and schedule patients for diagnostic testing. This position documents patient plans of care, communicates test results, prepares and sterilizes instruments, and maintains exam rooms. The CMA escalates non-routine issues and ensures safety checklists are completed. This role also provides for patient safety and protects patient privacy rights. The CMA may work in the front office and perform other duties as assigned.
