About The Position

BHMG Addiction Recovery is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic. This role involves obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, and facilitating patient flow. The Medical Assistant will also manage the electronic health record (EPIC), schedule appointments, process medication requests, handle prior authorizations, and coordinate tests and procedures. Depending on clinical competency, duties may expand to include performing EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy. Strong communication and organizational skills are crucial for efficient patient care and provider support. This role requires regular on-site presence to perform essential job functions.

Requirements

  • Active certification for Medical Assisting (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP, AAMP)
  • High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
  • 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required
  • Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g. EKG’s, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines)
  • Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
  • BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMR System a plus
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure
