About The Position

We are looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to support medical and safety efforts at a large scale construction site located in Boise, ID. This project is anticipated to last multiple years with exact timing to be determined by client requirements. ] The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical, administrative, and occupational health services with oversight from the Onsite Registered Nurse (RN), Program Manager (PM), Clinic Manager/Nurse Practitioner (NP), and Consulting Medical Director (CMD). This includes administrative clinic operations, providing patient intake and care, assisting with special requests from client, inventory management, in addition to assisting with other occupational and environmental health services, as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent acceptable with at least 2 years of directly applicable experience.
  • Knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired through an accredited Medical Assistant education program, including basic knowledge of medical terminology and reporting, to perform office and clinical duties.
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Must have a current BLS certification.
  • Must hold valid drivers license.
  • One to three years of experience in the healthcare field or in a related area.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain HIPAA certification upon hire
  • Consistently exemplify excellent patient relations skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality of information concerning patients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; effective interaction with a wide variety of personnel who hold varying roles and have varying responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to ask questions and/or seek information from the supervisor and other team members, so that tasks can be completed correctly.
  • Strong self-motivation; proactive, high-energy, enthusiastic, "can do" work ethic; and ability to handle potentially stressful situations and tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance.
  • Proficiency with computers using the Microsoft Office suite of applications for creation as well as modification, how to access and use the Internet and an e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational health experience preferred.
  • Certification in phlebotomy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing diagnostic testing such as vital signs, EKG, audiogram, pulmonary function test, vision acuity, and respirator fit testing.
  • Performing Wellness Testing (body fat, aerobic capacity assessment, upper body strength, etc.) and counseling (diet, exercise, tobacco cessation, etc.).
  • Preparing patients for examinations and assisting during exams.
  • Taking and Recording Vital Signs: Measuring blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates etc.
  • Taking and recording patient medical histories.
  • Answering phones, greeting patients, and managing correspondence.
  • Managing patient appointments and maintaining scheduling systems.
  • Updating and managing patient medical records.
  • Supplies – MA is responsible for ordering and maintaining medical & office supplies.
  • Updating the medication/supply expiration binder.
  • Assisting in managing workers' compensation case management program.
