About The Position

This position will support and assist the Nursing Staff to promote safety and delivery of quality direct care for VCBR’s Residents. The role involves identifying and responding to patients’ immediate personal needs, communicating and interacting with residents throughout all shifts daily, and assisting professional staff with providing therapeutic activities in a psycho-social treatment environment. The Certified Nursing Assistant will adhere to and support recovery by following the resident’s individualized treatment plan.

Requirements

Knowledge of general health practices for geriatric-age population.
Knowledge of safety practices.
Skills in techniques of assisting patients with ADL and personal care.
Skills in communication (verbal and written).
Ability to work with people (teamwork).
Ability to work in stressful environment.
Ability to understand and follow written policies and procedures.
State Board License to practice as a Nursing Aid in the State of Virginia is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in health care facility, acute care or long-term care preferred.
Experience in a psychiatric, health care facility, acute care, long-term care, or correction setting is preferred.
