About The Position

This role involves assisting medical and nursing staff with patient care, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, identifying and reporting crises, and ensuring stability and order, particularly during medication administration. The position requires assisting nursing staff with vital signs, blood sugars, and accurate charting.

Requirements

• Current Medical Assistant certification
• CPR/CPI (provided by facility)
• Must be 18 years of age based on company policy
• Medical Assistant training from an accredited program

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge/experience working with chemically dependent patients preferred.
• Knowledge of 12-Step program preferred.
• Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed population.
• Previous experience with behavioral health or addiction recovery field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the medical staff, nursing staff and pt’s.
• Maintain a safe environment for the pt’s.
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment in the nursing station.
• Able to identify a crisis and inform the appropriate dept.
• Be responsible for maintaining an environment of stability and order while pt’s are in the med. line.
• Assist nursing with vital signs, blood sugars and proper documentation in the chart of the vital signs.
