About The Position

Dayton Physicians Network is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for their Urology specialty. The CMA will provide assistance to physicians and practitioners with patient care, administrative, environmental, and organizational tasks. The schedule is Monday through Friday with 4-10 hour shifts or 8-5 hour shifts, with no weekends, evenings, or holidays, emphasizing work-life balance.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) year degree from a college or technical school
Medical Assistant Certification
One (1) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant
Current CPR certification (must be obtained within 60 days of employment if not current)
Excellent oral and written communication
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience working with a Practice Management system.
Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements.

Nice To Haves

2-4 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greets patients and assists with patient flow.
Assists with preparatory activities such as taking and documenting vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight, and communicates abnormalities to physician or practitioner.
Assists physicians and/or practitioners with patient care including minor surgical procedures and/or general medical procedures.
Reviews and documents patient medical history, assists with ensuring encounter forms are complete.
Collects and prepares lab specimens.
Electronically submits prescriptions/refills to pharmacies as directed.
Prepares patient rooms, cleans/sterilizes instruments.
Answers patient/pharmacy calls, takes messages for physicians, relays lab/test results and instructions to patients as directed, relays hospital consult information to physicians, and other administrative duties as assigned.
MU2/PQRS reporting as instructed.
Follows all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values.
Other duties as assigned.
