About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This role manages clinic throughput and flow of patient-room utilization, assists with patient intake, measures vital signs, and reviews medication lists; takes medical and surgical histories. The Certified Medical Assistant prepares and disinfects exam rooms prior to each patient visit, ensures adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available in clinics, and schedules diagnostic tests or imaging. They may participate in specimen collection and processing, remove casts and splints, and perform venipuncture. This role is accountable for meeting the standards of patient/personal safety and in maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment. The Certified Medical Assistant assists clinic staff with administrative needs, maintains patient information and documentation in the electronic medical record, and abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights. They support hospital and departmental performance improvement goals, quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations. The role also supports departmental initiatives and change efforts, practices financial and resource stewardship, and engages in strong communication, acts as a team player in supporting the mission and vision of the organization, and abides by the organization’s core values. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified or registered Medical Assistant required
  • BLS certification required
